Bader heads to Yanks from Cards for Monty | USA KURRENT AFFAIRS

Source: Wikipedia USA KURRENT AFFAIRS – In a surprising move made just before Tuesday's Trade Deadline, the Yankees acquired outfielder Harrison Bader from the Cardinals in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations. Bader, a Gold Glove Award winner who grew up near Yankee Stadium, is currently out with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Even though Bader is not expected to play until at least September, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman believes the move is worthwhile. "Harrison Bader is one of the game's elite center-field defenders," Cashman said. "When he's healthy, he opens up a lot of lanes for us and our manager." We certainly did a deep dive into his medicals, and there's a lot of optimism and belief that we'll be able to unpack that present and deploy him sometime in September."
